[…] "UDRP applies to all disputes related to domain names in all the new gTLDs, including .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА," said a spokesperson of the Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development, the registry operator of Moscow's domains.

On July 15, 2014, the Limited Registration Period I (for owners of trademarks and service marks protected in the Russian Federation) will be launched in .MOSCOW and .MOSCOW top-level domains. […] "Domain names in Moscow's TLDs will now be available for a wider range of users, because they won't have to pay for including their trademarks in the Trademark Clearinghouse", – says Dmitry Burkov, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development. - "We hope that this Limited Registration Period in Moscow's domains will be especially popular among Russian trademark owners associated not only with large businesses but also medium-size and small businesses."

On February 24, State Duma Deputy Speaker Sergei Zheleznyak has submitted amendments to Russia's anti-piracy law that would extend it to all types of illegal content, including music, books, software, and webcasts of TV channels, not just films and TV shows. The bill would allow holders of rights to all types of content to petition to block websites where their content is posted illegally. […] In addition to extension to new types of content, the bill has other new provisions as well. For example: “If the operator has no technical capabilities to restrict access to illegally published content, the operator must restrict access to such website.” “This wording allows the operators to use “rough” methods of access restriction, such as bans by IP address.
